There’s a certain kind of beauty that doesn’t announce itself—it lives in the quiet rituals of home, in the way a table is set, in the soft glow of candlelight at dusk, in the effortless elegance of a life thoughtfully lived. For us, that beauty has always begun with one person: my mother.
From as early as I can remember, I watched my mom, Marnie, transform the everyday into something extraordinary. It was never about excess or perfection—it was about intention. A proper family dinner, even on an ordinary Tuesday. Fresh flowers, carefully arranged, as if the home itself deserved celebrating. The smallest finishing touches that made a space feel not just styled, but loved.
What I didn’t realize then—but carry with me now—is that she wasn’t just creating a beautiful home. She was creating a feeling. A sense of warmth, of belonging, of quiet luxury that came not from things, but from care.
Some of my most cherished memories are rooted in those moments we spent together at home—lingering over tablescapes, rearranging a vignette just so, or discovering that final, perfect detail that made everything feel complete. It was never just about décor; it was about connection. It was about us.
Today, I have the privilege of calling my mother not only my greatest inspiration, but my business partner—and my very best friend. Building this brand together has been more than a dream realized; it has been a continuation of everything she taught me. Every piece we curate, every story we tell, is an extension of the life she showed me how to create.
We are endlessly inspired by other remarkable mother-daughter duos who have built something meaningful together—like Ginger Kilbane and Hilary Allinson of Hôtel Silver, whose work celebrates timeless entertaining; Marjorie Taylor and Kendall Smith Franchini of The Cook's Atelier, who have redefined the art of gathering; and Alice Naylor-Leyland and her mother Serena Fresson, whose world is one of unapologetic beauty and charm. These women remind us that when creativity and family intertwine, something truly special is born.
This Mother’s Day, we find ourselves reflecting not just on the idea of motherhood, but on the profound gift of partnership, friendship, and shared vision. My mother has taught me everything I know about elevating everyday living—how to find beauty in the details, how to create spaces that tell a story, and how to move through the world with grace and intention.
But more than that, she has given me the greatest gift of all: her friendship.
To my beautiful mom, Marnie—thank you for shaping the way I see the world, for inspiring this journey, and for walking beside me every step of the way. You are my constant, my teacher, and my heart. There will never be enough words to express what you mean to me—but I hope this is a beginning.
And to all mothers, daughters, and the women who inspire us daily—may your homes be filled with love, your tables always set for gathering, and your lives touched by the kind of beauty that lasts.
With love, always...XOXO,
Kate
